When I was growing up, I had the extreme pleasure of having a Mom and Dad who were keen on having a cool landscape! We lived on almost an acre in Willow Glen, California (home of the old Prune orchards before Silicon Valley was born) and had lots of nature to run free in! The garden that was installed and maintained in our backyard was done so lovingly by a gentleman by the name of Mr. Aso….little did I realize how much influence his care and attention would influence me my entire life. The garden was Japanese by inspiration and had everything from detailed bonsai plantings to vegetable and fruit trees I along with my dad would spend hours tending on the weekends. I was bitten quite early by the gardening bug—and hope to inspire you also.
